Thesis subjects

Porous materials find versatile applications in different research fields: heterogeneous catalysis, chromatography, adsorbents in environmental applications, matrices for enzymes and proteins (biocatalysts), or even as thin-layer dielectrics in microelectronic devices. The research group Center for Ordered Materials, Organometallics and Catalysis (COMOC) is specialized in the development of various new ordered porous materials and their application. A variety of characterization techniques such as infrared and Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, X-ray fluorescence, UV-VIS, nitrogen sorption, CHNS-O analysis, gas chromatography, TPD, TPR, SEM, TEM,… is at your disposal. An experienced research team will guide you on a daily basis.

We are currently researching three type of materials: (1) Periodic Mesoporous Organosilicas (PMOs); (2) Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs); and (3) Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs). We offer a variety of master thesis topics on several subjects.
